Indexer Notes

This issue takes place after Aquaman (DC, 2016 series) #33, where it was shown that Mera is recovering from magical injuries that prevent her from breathing water, and she was sent to Amnesty Bay until she can fully recover and assume her new role as queen of Atlantis. She was chosen to be the new queen in Aquaman (DC, 2016 series) #32, pending the overthrow of the current king Corum Rath.

Ocean Master was last seen in Aquaman (DC, 2011 series) #23.2, where he was shown going to the aid of Erin and Tommy, and in issue #25 where he was shown to be staying with them. It is revealed in this issue that he subsequently fell in love and became engaged to Erin, and Tommy thinks of him as his dad.

Mera's origin of coming from Xebel on a mission to kill king of Atlantis, but changed her mind when she fell in love with him, was revealed in Brightest Day (DC, 2010 series) #6.
